Dragonhide Gauntlets: the look of scale maille but with handknitted comfort, flexibility and warmth. This listing is for a pair of gauntlets with matte black and fiery red gleaming against black yarn.

The shiny red and matte black anodized aluminum scales are knitted in an overlapping pattern that covers the back of the hand and wrist. The scales point down toward the fingers. Sturdy black acrylic yarn forms the base of these gauntlets. The palm is scale free for comfort. The thumb holes allow this to be worn over the hand, or ignore the thumbholes and wear it higher on the wrist.

Choose your size by wrist measurement: small is for wrists 6", medium for 6.5" and large for 7-8" wrists. Order the smaller size if your wrist falls between two sizes. They are 6.5" long.

I often get asked, "How did you think of that?" Well, necessity is mother of invention. I bought a large amount of these scales intending to make a traditional scale maille armor shirt for my husband. But I hated making armor. I needed to use up those scales, so I turned to skills I've had for years. I crocheted the first pair, but they of course didn't stretch. So I figured out a knitting method that gave me just what I wanted and have been knitting since.
This product is not a toy and not intended for children under 12. If you plan to engage in combat these are not the gauntlets for you. They only intended for decorative/fashion use.

I'm afraid there is no easy answer for this one. Shipments to Canada usually take less than 2 weeks. Overseas varies between about 1 week up to 6. Occasionally an item gets held in customs, which can delay things further. For many destinations limited tracking is available, your tracking number will be in the email you receive when I ship your order.

Customers in the UK-if your order has not arrived it might be at your local post office. UK customers have informed me that you are supposed to get a card from your postal carrier if custom fees are due, however that card sometimes is not delivered.

I am shipping from Washington state in the US. If you are overseas, the answer is "Maybe." Each country has its own limit before customs apply. Please check your governments website for more information. I do know the UK has a very low threshhold, and in addition to VAT the postal service will collect a handling fee of 8 pounds. Sometimes more expensive items slip through unnoticed, but please be prepared for VAT/customs/handling fee.
